Contemporary art today, what is it?
Why have there been such monstrous transformations in aesthetics. Why is beauty and aesthetics of nature eternal, but people, making ugly forms arguing with this universal aesthetics? What is it? The feralization of humanity, the fall of morals, general decay, the changing weight of the human brain, or the global revenge of nature?
I think it's all of the above together. Yes, perhaps it is nature's revenge on people who go against its rules, destroying all living things with their technological progress. Revenge of people who can't stop in their lust for power and profit. Therefore, wars and epidemics are the fate of human civilization. A little more and museum values will turn into nothing, people will not be able to see the beautiful in them and will talk about what ugliness history has left them. And this time is not far off.
Man-made crises, man-made wars. Ambitions of world leaders, and then what happens? No civilization leaves behind as much ugliness as ours. Hundreds and millions of dollars thrown into the creation of so-called collections imposed by art consultants is a mirage of our civilization. The handful of aesthetes who still have the power to see real art is what we have today. Brands create foundations, contemporary art experts prove to them what to buy, filling huge vaults with hollowed-out art. Will any of this be preserved for future generations? Or will the next generations come to even more deplorable results, being brought up on the aesthetics of today.
Mass production has littered everything from uniform clothing, to faceless restaurants where today people come to eat but not enjoy their food, to ugly architecture in the form of cement boxes with circular glazing.
And I have a question. Based on what values and aesthetics to bring up children, whose taste is acquired and formed in the first 5 years of their life. What do they see around them? They see so much ugliness that it can form anything but the concept of beauty and taste.
Everything is put on the stream. Trends, fashions for anything, styles and trends are invented. I'm not talking about painting at all. So many trends have been invented that the experts themselves can understand them?
What's it all for?
We selected for ourselves directions in art that most people do not understand and are unlikely to understand anymore. By choosing the most recent and true geniuses who can draw in a way that reveals not only the artist's talent, but also his unique personality, we create together with them art not for everyone, but only for those few aesthetes who are still left.
You simply can't argue with the world. Art today has been turned into a tool for making money. Everyone who is able to hold a pencil or a brush becomes an artist today. Look at the materials used, mostly acrylic. Why? It's easier and faster to make works that just need to be produced in large quantities. Galleries demand it, online art marketplaces demand it, because that's the way search engine algorithms are set up. Speed becomes the measure of an artist's success. What kind of creativity can we talk about? That is all that is happening today. Have a good voyage for such a ship, but only where it will sail to in the end. Does the captain know where to sail, or does he just give in to the force of the current and waves in the open sea?
Those who stay ashore and don't try to sail away on this wreck still have a chance to experience an art world not for everyone.
